Research and document writing help
Need help putting something in writing, finding sources or understanding a complicated document? The Legal Advocacy Network offers research, educational resources and clerical document assistance, with a focus on Delaware.

Grievances, complaints and written requests
Tell us what happened, what you want to communicate and who will receive it. We can help organize your account into a written grievance, complaint or similar request. Spelling and writing ability do not have to be perfect to ask for help. Grievances and qualifying similar requests are $1 per written page, after confirming the scope.
Formal letters, motion drafts and petition drafts
Ask about document typing, formatting and preparation for letters to agencies, organizations or individuals; draft motions and petitions; and other formal correspondence. You supply the facts, decisions and instructions. Formal document drafts and other document work are $10 per page. You remain responsible for review, filing, service and deadlines; a draft does not itself file or send a document.
Legal information research and plain-language summaries
Request source-based research, a public policy comparison, an organized report or a summary of materials. Let us know your question, the intended reader and the length you want. You may ask for a two-page or four-page summary, a maximum page count or a firm budget. We confirm what can be prepared within that limit before starting.
Delaware justice, reentry and public accountability
Our existing free research reports cover prison education and college access, Pell Grants, identification at release, reentry, correctional policies, prison mail, tablets, phone and family communication, FOIA and public records, public spending and government accountability. These are research and advocacy resources; LAN is not a government agency or a direct housing, benefits or emergency service provider.

Questions before you request help
Can I ask for help if I do not know what to write?
Yes. A few words are enough to start. Email us at dfh333777@gmail.com or text 302-409-5004. Describe what you know and we can discuss the details before quoting the work. Use the sworn declaration and fee-request form when requesting a fee you can afford.
Can I set a budget or request help if I cannot pay?
Yes. Tell us your maximum price and page count. There is no general page limit, but the agreed number of pages determines the fee. The financial inability and fee-request form lets you request a reduced fee, an income-based amount or no-charge help. Any arrangement must be confirmed with LAN.
Is this a law firm or an attorney service?
No. LAN and Dave F. Hartman are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice or representation. Services provide research, education and clerical assistance. Consult a licensed attorney about legal rights, strategy and what should be filed in an individual case. No attorney-client relationship is created.
How do I order and receive a document?
Use the sworn declaration and fee-request form. We agree on the work, price, timing and delivery format first. Documents are delivered in the format agreed, such as Word or PDF. After accepting a quote, use the secure payment options. Read the delivery and refund terms before ordering.
